Lucha Times for 03/11

Lucha Times are updated.

Saturday (normal) is the first Best Of Show (highlight is GdI vs Shocker/Park in the rematch).

Sunday (one hour earlier on the east, one hour later on the west) is the Averno/Santo match replay, probably (they aired a rerun in this slot the first time, but that was Christmas.)

Next in line for TLN would appear to be a Black Tiger/Blue Panther main event.

According to the WON:

– Negro Casas’s 25th Anniversary show was initally supposed to be 02/25, with Negro, Felino and Heavy Metal teaming and Pepe Casas refing. Pena had given approval to let Heavy and Pepe work one show for CMLL, but then changed his mind, which became a reason for Heavy to be upset with AAA.

The major reason was Konnan being offered a job as assistant booker. As a guy who stuck with AAA after Konnan jumped, Heavy Metal was upset with Konnan being brought back, and was given a “deal with it or leave” ultimatium. You know which one he picked; he just never talked to AAA after that meeting.

The Negro Casas show(s) will take place once everything’s sorted out with Heavy Metal and AAA, so they can do the initially planned trios match (although it seems unlikely Pepe will be part.)

– Super Crazy, and Nicho are expected to be offered WWE contracts and Juventued Guerrera is “strongly under consideration”. The idea is they’d start post-WM. We’d need to have a pool on “how many days after he debuts will Juvi be asked to leave for erratic behavior?” At any rate, Velocity is gonna be awesome and I’d presume Nicho is off the Congress Theatre show.

No word on if they’ll get their masks back like Rey did. I don’t think you can go back with Juvi (and no one remembers Super Crazy in a mask), but I think it’d be better for Nicho to go back to the horns if it all possible. It’d be a pretty unique look in the WWE Universe, and you need unique looks to get by.

There had been a mention AAA was considering bringing in Nicho to do the old Psicosis vs new Psicosis fued (which was done at least for one match in Tijuana), but I’d guess not now.

– the Ultimo Guerrero/Mistico match was one of the lowest drawing shows of the year (though still over 10,000) and not a great match. Better luck next time.
