CMLL Mini Line - 04/24/04 (#126)
Welcome To The Show Vignette: Pierroth! OH NO
Match 1: Universo 2000 (c), Averno, Mephisto vs Satanico (c), Negro Casas, Alan Stone
Arena Coliseo, 02/03/04
Joined In Progress
Winner: Universo
Match Time: 1:10
Approx Rating: 55-59 (shown match length factored in)
Other Match Notes: They're using the lineup graphics again, which is a big help
in matches we come in late like this. Universo whips Alan into a tope on
Mephisto, so there's one ref. Casas gets a dropkick to the knee and a Fujiwara
armbar on Universo, Universo gets his feet on the ropes, Casas won't let go, so
there's ref #2. Satanico gets the better of Averno in the ring for a moment, but
Averno uses a low blow uppercut on him, and Casas gets cradled trying to help.
Glad this was clipped since this is the same basic finish in this feud.
Vignette: Perro Aguayo Jr. meets up with Terrible and Mascara Magica at the restraints. Guapos say it's become personal for them against the Capos, so they're glad to help - of course, it's been personal for Perro for quite some time. Terrible makes big statements and drinks orange juice. It almost turns into a drinking game, because everyone pauses to take a sip after one of them says a line for a while. Magica and Terrible have to leave to do some Guapos U decision making.
Match 2: Los Hermanos Dimanatias (Universo 2000 (c), Cien
Caras, Mascara Ano 2000) vs Perro Aguayo Jr. (c), Mascara Magica, Terrible
Arena Mexico, 02/06/04
Winner: Universo
Match Time: 8:55
Approx Rating: 75-80
Other Match Notes: For all your Universo needs. Perro is all smiley and high fiving people so the Capos rush him. Magica speeds his entrance to go help out! Terrible, not so much. Crowd chants for Perro when teases one on three, so we cut to the crowd when he gets in the ring. Nice timing! After taking a backdrop to the floor, Aguayo is down holding his ankle. Submission on Terrible was less a preplanned pose then people realizing they need to put Terrible in a submission to end it and just grabbing something or standing on him. Perro was still limping as the second fall began. Cien Caras pulled out a butterfly suplex! Caras and Mascara grabbed an end and held Perro up so Universo could drop him with a top rope sit. That should've ended it. Instead, the next thing Perro did was duck under a clothesline to start the comeback. Legdrop on the leg! They teased a double count out as the tecnicos were brawling with the rudos outside the ring during the comeback, but came back with Perro/Universo. Universo missed a second rope splash, but Perro nearly didn't get out of the way in time. When it broke down to the other four, Magica tried a top rope cross body on both remaining Capos, but he was caught and tossed down. Terrible did the same thing, and the Copes went down. Clip to start the third fall. Universo has a taped up shoulder. Guapos clean house en route to stereo topes (that's 1). Perro pushed away the ref when the ref tries to stop his closed fist punches (that's 2). Perro then decided to act all tough and dare Ano to hit him. Chest slap (no pain), chest slap (no pain), low block kick (pain.)
Post match, Perro yelled on the microphone a lot.
Stellar Moments
Vignette: Hey, it's Guapo U auditions. Your judges are Terrible,
Mascara Magica, Shocker, and the Guapo Mini.
Candidates Include
Karisma - from Puebla. Masked. Points at his muscles
Marcos Rivera - from Cigualcoyo. Not masked. Also has a boxing
background, apparently.
Loco Max! - He wants a second chance. He's lost his mind even more than
the last time we saw him. He's sure he could win this time, but Shocker rejects
him. Loco goes a bit more insane, but they're insistent that Loco had his
chance, and Loco is Loco. Terrible escorts him to the door, and throws him out
it.
Some Guy - who goes ahead and does the stripper dance without permission.
I don't catch his name, but he's cocky. Perhaps too much so.
Nosawa! - With female interrupter! Nosawa is a beautiful Japanese man,
apparently. Shocker and Magica discuss - if Nosawa won, it would improve
international relations. So okay.
That's it, and the guys wrap up - when they're interrupted by clowns? Although
the mini seems to like them, Shocker points out that they're late. And they're
clowns. So the Clowns wander off while spraying silly string in the air. I dunno.
Match 3: Dr. Wagner Jr (c), Black Tiger, Pierroth vs L. A. Park (c), Rayo de Jalisco, Shocker
Arena Mexico, 02/06/04
Winner: Park
Match Time: 12:32
Approx Rating: 83-87
Other Match Notes: No entrances. We start in the ring with normal
introductions, and the rudos rushing the tecnicos as captains are announced. Been
a while since Wagner and Tiger have gotten some time. If Universo could've made
a threepeat instead of Pierroth, this'd be the CMLL Trios Champions. Clip while they're
beating down Park. Park makes his flip bumps look effortless. Wagner hit Park with a low blow kick, causing us to miss Tiger dropping Shocker for
something. Wagner put a foot on Park and held on the ropes, and apparently the
ref will count that. Wagner let go at two any way because he's not done. Camera
man misses Tiger's moonsault while waiting for Wagner to pull Park off the
middle rope into a Stunner; Wagner was waiting for Tiger to do his spot.
Pierroth broke out the belt for the second fall. Wagner and Tiger teased
crotching Park around the post, but instead slid him to the floor. Shocker too.
La Nazi came in to help whip Rayo as the referees dealt with the pileup on the
outside, but Rayo reversed the whip on her, and Shocker and Park recovered to
crotch her around the post to start the comeback. Mini got to do stuff to Tiger
after the second fall. Shocker completed whiffed on a reverse bodyscissors
cradle on Tiger. Camera didn't cover it, and it was too obvious to hide, though
they tried.
Shocker put a figure four sleeper on Tiger.
Wagner kicked Shocker, and put a figure four sleeper on him
Rayo legdropped Wagner, and put a figure four sleeper on him.
Pierroth grabbed Rayo, and a put a figure four sleeper on him.
Park strutted on the apron, then realized all five were locked in the ring.
Pierroth and Tiger blocked submissions on them, so he was confused. He decided
to go up, tried a top rope splash, and everyone moved out of the way. Park got
up and went wild on chest slaps - one for Wagner, one for Tiger, one for
Shocker? Oops, he got carried away. Rudos are confused but tecnicos straighten
it out. Shocker weirdly aborts a boosted dropkick on Wagner and Tiger before the
boost; maybe he thought it was going to be blown? They ended up hitting on just
Wagner a few seconds later. Park backdropped his partner to the floor, but he
was caught by Wagner and Tiger, so Park flattened them all with the out of
control corkscrew plancha. Rayo won clean and easily.
Really focused on Wagner/Tiger vs Park/Shocker, with a post match staredown. So either they weren't sure Rey was going to be back as soon as everyone was hoping and needed new challengers, or something got aborted down the line.
Next Week: Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero, Mascara Magica, Rayo de Jalisco, LA Park, Perro Aguayo, Mascara Ano 200, Terrible, Universo 2000, Black Warrior and much more
