CMLL Line - 03/12/04 (#119)

Thanks to: When both tapings are in Arena Coliseo, it's awful helpful to have places to figure out which date the match was. So, thanks to KrisZ

We abruptly head into the first match without the usual set up...

1 Black Warrior, Black Tiger, Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) vs Blue Panther (c), Mr. Niebla, Volador Jr.
12/16/03, Arena Coliseo
52
3 trios 1:49 Niebla crucifix rollup Wagner  fine if you didn't blink

Notes: third fall already in progress

Warrior off the ropes, Panther barely clears him on a leapfrog but has no problem giving Warrior a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on the next pass. Volador comes in to help out with a 'rana, one two NO. Tiger came in to break it up but Panther has him with a sunset flip one two no. All four fighting - looks like Wagner and Niebla are outside the ring. Rudos get he best, tecnicos whipped into each other. Panther ends up in one corner and Volador is whipped towards him, but Panther helps his partner to the middle rope, and Volador gives the rudos a second rope plancha as they charge in. Panther small packages Tiger as Volador 'ranas Warrior a second time - one two NO. This time, it's the tecnicos whipping the rudos into each other, but the rudos check each other and strike back with back elbows. Warrior and Tiger charge the tecnicos in the corners, but both babyface duck and out go the rudos. Volador crosses the ring to tope Tiger, and Panther almost comes up short doing the same to Warrior. All four are down, so we're back to Wagner and Niebla in the ring. Wagner's wearing the outfit from when he was partners with Panther, of course. Back elbow to Niebla. Chop, corner whip, Niebla kips up, Wagner slips under, Niebla slides out of Wagner's grip, off the ropes and Wagner stops him with the dropkick to the knee. Niebla is slow up, so Wagner takes his time to hit a clothesline. Wagner is distracted by the fans briefly. Off the ropes, clothesline reversed into a crucifix one two three. (1:49) Niebla wins and takes the fall. Dr. Wagner fan in the crowd looks less than happy about that.

2 Averno, Mephisto, Super Crazy (c) vs Atlantis, Felino, Vampiro (c)
12/19/03, Arena Coliseo
80
1 trios 1:35
2:09
triple pump powerbomb Felino
triple submission on Vampiro
good but not great or noteworthy except for the surprise finish
2 3:38
3:45
Felino chokeslam Averno
Vampiro reverse enziguri Mephisto
3 3:39 Crazy springboard dropkick Vampiro
T 9:33 rudos (2-1)

Notes: Mephisto is red. Averno is black. Full entrances without an attack! How odd. Vampiro's wearing the mohawk.

Felino and Crazy to start. Circle. Crowd shot - wow, that kid has got the stupid haircut. Yep, that was a clip. Vamp's being stomped down as we return. Atlantis comes in and gets attacked. Mep gives Vampiro a chinbrekaer and ends him on his way. Double whip, double back elbow for Atlantis. Held so Averno can dropkick him out. Felino in and stopped. Double whip, triple pump powerbomb. One two three. (1:35) Vampiro back in, corner whip, Averno forearm, Mephisto, clothesline, Super Crazy splash. Double whip out into an Averno drop toe hold. Averno with a camel clutch so Mephisto can hit the second rope dropkick to the face. Everyone grab a limb and pull, that'll do it. (2:09) Rudos celebrate a job well done.

Second fall. Rudos hold the ring to little resistance. Wait, now everyone who's not Vampiro is charging and getting very little out of it. Felino's tossed, Vampiro gets a second rope axhandle from Mephisto. I think Crazy dumped Atlantis in here somewhere. Vamp is worked on by all three rudos. Corner whip, into Averno's boots. Averno yanks his face, and while everyone is fooling around with Vamp, Atlantis is in. Somehow, Crazy and Mephisto are convinced to go the apron while Averno teases taking on Atlantis while pulling Vamp around by the hair, only to pull back to the safety of the rudo side of the ring. Ah, Crazy and Mep went to the apron so Averno could set Vampiro's head on the ropes facing out for a double boot. Nice. Averno with an elbow drop to the inside of the right knee. Atlantis makes a run in now, but Crazy grabs him from behind for Averno and Mephisto to charge at. That goes not so well, as Crazy gets kicked and punched and the comeback is on. Felino beats up Crazy in the ring while Vampiro takes care of Averno and Atlantis has the best of Mep. Felino hurts himself headbutting Super Crazy on the outside, which is always funny. Inside, Atlantis is giving Averno a spinebuster. Tecnicos regroup and decide to take this one on one in the ring. It's Crazy in for the rudos as the others recover. Crazy off the ropes, over, under, monkey flipped. And another. Crazy is able to avoid the dropkick to the knee, and knees Atlantis. Charge, and he takes the scary monkey flip to the floor. Atlantis starts running, but only teases the dive. Averno and Felino now, Averno sidestepping a dropkick. Chest slaps, charge, Felino drop toe holds him into the middle rope. Felino with a chokeslam! Covering on two three. (3:38) Vamp came off the top rope with a cross body to keep Mep from getting involved. Kick catch reverse enziguri one two three (3:45) Tecnicos win a fall to make it 1-1. Replays.

Rudos are recovering on the outside when it's time start fall 3, so they get a count put on them. Mepshito comes into break it, but poses in the corner rather than lockup immediately with Felino. Mephisto off the ropes, wait no he'll stop to let Felino pose (?), Felino turns around and gets knocked down. Stomp, off the ropes, over, over, into a powerslam. Felino elbow drop and kip up. Felino kicks Mephisto in the chest twice (partially blocked?), then starts to run towards the ropes but Mep grab a boot and flips Felino. Felino rolls through, drop toe hold for Mep, off the ropes and a dropkick to the head to roll him out of the ring. Averno checks on his partner while Atlantis tags in. Averno comes in for his side but is immediately begging off. Now he's got an opening, chest slap. Chest slap. Averno is pumped. Right misses, Atlantis chest slap, push into the ropes (and Mephisto), armdrag. Mep comes in, but Atlantis just sends Averno into him. Averno misses a right and and Atlantis hiptosss him before sending Mephisto into him again. Averno flies out of the ring, and Atlantis dropkicks Mephisto into him. Atlantis teases a dive - not yet. Crazy surprises Atlantis by not coming close to connecting on a sneak attack dive into the ring, and Vampiro helps out by giving him a running kick to the head. Slam, no Crazy lands behind and pulls Vamp down by his crazy hair cut. Crazy off the ropes, clothesline is ducked and Vamp superkicks him. Averno and Mephisto in with chest slaps, double whip, double back elbow misses, double faceslam is off timed and not great but it'll get the job done. Double clothesline out. Crazy with a dropkick, and Vamp rolls out. Crazy sizes up a dive on Vampiro, not realizing that Felino is standing three inches behind him. Felino lets Crazy gets running, and backdrops him o the charge. Atlantis in to add a dropkick for Crazy to take him out, and Felino hits the double jump somersault bodyblock on Crazy! Atlantis off the ropes, misses a clothesline on Averno, and Mep trips him up. Averno adds an elbow drop, then they both pull Atlantis out of the ring, lift Atlantis up, and crotch him on the ring post. Mephisto back in but not happy to see Vamp. Clothesline, he ain't going down. Shoves all around. Mephisto off the ropes again, goozle, chokeslam! Vamp off the ropes, delayed kick from Averno stumbles Vamp. Crazy with a springboard dropkick everyone covers one two three. (3:39) That's a bit a surprise, but it'll get the win. Replay of Felino's dive and Crazy's wining move.

Stellar Moments:
La Combinacion - Tigre Blanco (I think) and Super Comando do stereo dives
Lo Espectacular - Neutron moonsaults to the floor
El Tope - Mascara Magica compresses his spine into Tarzan Boy
Lo Admirable - Parka with the diving armdrag on Ultimo Guerrero
La Plancha - Rayo de Jalisco plancha flattens Ultimo Guerrero

Vignette: L.A. Park thanks for all the support in Arena Mexico. Don't be confused: He is the unique, the original, the authentic Park. He morphs from his white skeleton outfit to his new red one, but he's still the one, the LA Park.

3 El Hijo de Perro Aguayo (c), Pierroth, Ultimo Guerrero vs La Park (c), Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Universo 2000
12/19/03, Arena Coliseo
80
1 trios 2:26
3:16
triple team beatdown Rayo
DQ (excessive violence)
Park's still cool. So is Ultimo. Please ditch the rest.
2 3:04 Pierroth small package Rayo
3 1:51 Perro low blow kick Unvierso
T 8:11 rudos (2-1)

Notes: Perro Jr. has a belt, but I can't figure out which one it'd be. It's vaguely CMLL-ish looking, which doesn't help. Maybe Ultimo let him borrow one of his? Universo is first out and first to be attacked with his coat still on. Perro doesn't take part? How odd. Rayo is in no hurry to help. Ah, Perro's attacking him. Lots of stomping. Ultimo attacks Park before we even get a chance to see if he'd hurry to help. Perro gets a picture frame from somewhere to batter Rayo with. I guess we've started officially?

Parka's worked over in the ring while Perro pulls his seat rearranging tactics on Rayo. Ah, first:

Hace Uno Dias: Pierroth fouled Park, which got his team the win. Park was the man who beat Pierroth for his mask, so very long ago.

Back live, Rayo gets the running double stomp, then a triple team beatdown that I think will do it. (2:26) Perro goes after La Parka, taking off his entrance gear to choke him with it, always nice. Pierroth and Rayo are still beating on Rayo, but I guess they're getting away because he's not the captain. Oh wait, they just didn't. There' the overturned fall. (3:16) Rudos can not believe it.

Fight continues on the outside, with lots of it on Park. Perro and Park have an exchange highlighted by Perro using the always fun "look over there" strategy to get control. One clip later, and Rayo's doing his usual routine with Perro. Perro hits the ropes hard. Rayo teases a dive but it ain't happening Ultimo and Park in, with a break for Park to acknowledge the LOUD Parka chants. Ultimo and Park have what I think I'll soon be calling their trademark good exchange, highlights by a fun series into a Park 'rana, a rebound armdrag, and Park adding an armdrag to the Shocker/Ultimo spot. Park finishes it all with a springboard corkscrew plancha-thingy, which is effective Perro adds a top rope Thesz Press onto Park. Rayo adds a plancha for everyone. Universo and Pierroth aren't going to dive, so they do a sequence in the ring. Nazi distracts, Pierroth small package one two three (3:04) and we've got to three falls even though they have nothing left. Universo chases after La Nazi post fall. Chest chop for her. INTO THE POST! Pierroth is not as upset as you might imagine. He still won the fall, you see. Replays. Break.

Third fall. Pierroth tries to crotch Rayo as he comes in by kicking the ropes. Oh no Rayo vs Pierroth. Card girl adds a nice spin for no reason. She's one who enjoys her job. Rayo gets a neck vice on Pierroth, and Perro breaks it up. Crowd shot, and it's Parka/Pierroth as we return. I'm not expecting the wacky armdrag here, although we get the roll through sunset flip into a dropkick. AND DANCE! Pierroth's crappy clotheslines can't ruin that. La Nazi gets involved, but Park fights off Pierroth, and then - moves, as Pierroth hits Nazi. Pierroth takes the easy bump to the floor on a dropkick, and then fails to catch Park's corkscrew plancha dive. All he had to do is step forward into the big scary flying man. Ultimo and Rayo doing a sequence now. Rayo does a lot of yelling and a lot of listening the crowd and not much going down. At least they're building to the logical final two. Tapatia on Ultimo, Perro comes into break it up but Universo backdrops him. TOMBSTONE? Referee breaks it up - such things can't be allowed even if Universo is a tecnico. Universo pushes the ref, the ref is disoriented, Perro low blow kicks Universo, Perro covers, one two three (1:51) Give Ultimo an assist for staying in the tapatia for a good twenty seconds. Perro rips off a strip of Universo's mask, poses, and throws it into the crowd. Stomping to Universo. Everyone's lost track of who's heel or face. Looks like Park is down and being checked on due to Pierroth's quality catching work. Perro completely demasks Universo and waves around the rest. Park's got an ice pack on his head. Replay of his dive - Pierroth knew he was short and just reached out his arms, as if he had thought perhaps he had gained the strength of twenty men to hold up this flying man from the floor. Here's the finish, in multiple angles.

Meanwhile, Perro is explaining that two falls beats one fall, and he won. I think he wants a mano y mano match - actually, I think that's what he wants just because it's what he'll end up getting. Not tonight, though. Break

Next Week: Universo 2000, Super Porky, Hijo de Perro Aguayo, Mr. Niebla, Black Warrior, Hijo de Lizmark, Averno, Mephisto and much much more.

The crowd is loud as we return, but who knows why. Looks like Perro is still throwing out challenges. I challenge you to watch another couple replays. If I was Universo, I'd be annoyed too but then maybe I wouldn't have tried an illegal move that killed his dad. I dunno.

That's it.

Closing Notes:

1. Park's still good. He just needs a better group to work with.
2. I guess this was Vampiro taking loses on his way out as a full time guy?
3. So tired of some of these people
4. Hope we keep getting lots of wrestling while not at Arena Mexico
