12/20 news – upcoming lineups

I wish I went to Mexico City! If only the wrestlers of Mexico City could come here…

CMLL is running their bigger show on Tuesday this week, with the Friday show moved to Saturday (Christmas Day instead of Christmas Eve.)

1) Shockercito, Bracito de Oro, Fantasy vs Pierrotito, Gitanito, Pequeno Violencia
2) StarMAN, Tigre Metalico, Ultimo Vampiro vs Ramstei, Mogur, Reyes Veloz
3) La Mascara, Tony Rivera, Brazo de Oro vs Veneno, Nitro, Maximo
4) Shocker, Atlantis, Black Warrior vs Pierroth, el Hijo del Pierroth, Pierroth Jr.
5) Dr. Wagner (c) vs Canek for the UWA World Heavyweight Championship.

I expect the belt shifts back to it’s normal owner as Christmas present.

Saturday‘s show has a main event they’ve built to for a while.

1) Ultimo Dragoncito, Mini Olimpico, Bracito de Oro vs Mini Violencia, Bam-Bam, Espectrito
2) Tigre Blanco, Brazo de Plata Jr., Sombra de Plata vs Arkangle, Dr. X, Koreano
3) Sagardo, Alan Stone, Virus vs Okumura, Masada, Azteca
4) Dr. Wagner, Negro Casas, Mistico vs Canek, Averno, Mephisto
5) Dos Caras Jr. vs Olimpico

Way before his rudo turn, wasn’t there talk Olimpico could be dropping his mask? I gotta figure this is probably a big enough program for it to happen.

There’s always the usual Sunday show, but it doesn’t seem to be terribly newsworthy

1) Meteorix & Molotov vs Flecha & Jeque
2) StarMAN & Los Rayos Tapatios (I & II) vs Mesala, Caligula, Guerrero Del Futuro
3) La Mascara, Virus, Tony Rivera vs Veneno, Loco Max, Nitro
4) Felino, Volador Jr., Sagrado vs Emilio Charles, Averno, Mephisto
5) Mr. Niebla, Dr. Wagner, Mistico vs Hector Garza, Rey Bucanero, Terrible

CMLL.com says they’ll return to Arena Mexico the last week of January, which would be 01/28.

HOWever, some people may be otherwise occupied. ChicagoWrestling.com’s got the lineup for a double shot follow up to the show I went to a couple weeks ago.

01/29/05 – Cicero, IL (Sat)
($25 vip/$15 adult/$7 child, doors open at 6:30)
1) Horoscopo/Lanza Llamas vs Yakuza/Dragon
2) Principe Franky/Swat Cat vs Mr. Coraje/Reo
3) XTassis/Silver Star vs Guerrerito del Futuro/Mini Halloween
4) Felino/Virus vs Rey Bucanero/Ultimo Guerrero

01/30/05 – Aurora, IL (Sun)
($25 vip/$15 adult/$7 child, doors open at 6:30)
1) Mascara de Jade vs Swat Cat
2) Principe Frankky/Sagitario vs Mr. Coraje/Holy Terror
3) Xtassis/Silver Star vs Guerrerito del Futuro/Mini Halloween
4) Felino/Virus vs Rey Bucanero/Ultimo Guerrero

Even though I’m 90% sure they’ll do the same top two match both nights, I think I could be convinced to go to both shows. (That’s how far gone I am, I guess.) Surely going to at least one. Anyone else going?

Edit: Related DVDVR thread.

I’m about 25% done with this weekend’s TV. I’d like to take a chunk more out of that, and then talk about awards or not awards later tonight.

edit: sleep now. try this later.

  1. Someone was taping the show last time (in Aurora, at least); I think they were with the promotion, though they didn’t do much more than sit in the bleachers and watch till the Blue Demon/Super Kendo/Hurcan Ramirez vs Villano IV/Villano V/Infernal main event (where she circled around ringside.) So she could’ve been there just for them, or just cared about that match. I don’t know if they’ll be offering them.

Chicagowrestling did post an e-mail address – OMEGALUCHAYBOX@AOL.COM – which might be worth a try.

(I should add that I’d be willing and perhaps even able to tape if they were cool with it. But I don’t know this people so I wouldn’t imagine they’d give an okay.)

  2. So I hit up the chicago wrestling link and lo and behold I find out this guy has promoted in WI, more specifically Racine. I’m sure I’ve missed a few shows in Racine since I’ve been here and this irritates me. How do I keep up with the local lucha? It seems to me I either have to hope I get allerted from one of the regular sources (cubs, dvdvr, cw.com) or run into an actual advertisement which will never happen.

If anyone knows in the past what building did they run in Racine? So I can at least try and monitor the building to see what is up.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing the Cicero show.
