CMLL Line - 08/31/03 (#92)

This show was truncated on Galavision. Mexican Air Version (06/14/03) included one additional match

1: Cien Caras/Mascara Ano 2000/Apolo Dantes d. Rayo De Jalisco/Mr. Niebla/Lizmark Jr.
Post Match, Pierroth brawls with Cien Caras to hype their hair match next week.

Spectacular Moments:
El Novato: Some guy I don’t know does a twisting over the top rope plancha to the floor onto a Galdiator type guy.
La Combinacion: Mano Negro Jr. hits a top rope corkscrew plancha to the floor, and Sombre de Plata springboards into a reverse bodyscissors cradle with bridge
La Impressionate: Averno takes a triple press slam to the floor, thanks to Damien, Halloween and Violencia
El Triunfo: the Junior Infernales do stereo corner somersault planchas to the floor, Mephisto using the ropes, Avenro with no hands. Satanico finishes off Damien with a backslide.
Lo Increible: Cien Caras plays a little El Kabong for Pierroth.

Notes: We cut right after the pose for pictures, but in time for a final set of introductions. There’s some shoving, but it goes nowhere before the match. Infernales are wearing their traditional black/red/yellow outfits. Satanico has a matching arm sleeve, like the Brazos. Halloween again insists on introducing his team. His team is all wearing mesh shirts and long (pleather?) pants. Halloween introduces Nicho as Psicosis. The sides argue and it takes a while after the whistle to get the match started.

Satanico and Damien start. Crowd shot, and the sound track skips. Hey, Averno and Halloween are now in, what do you know. Averno with an armdrag, armdrag, Halloween up first and shoving. Averno’s knocked down into the ropes. He pulls himself up, and shoves back. Halloween knife edge chop, chop, whip, head down too soon and Averno kicks it. Off the ropes, but Halloween nails him with a superkick. Halloween takes a moment to pose. Whip, reversed, Averno with a chop, open hand slap, slap to the face, whip, reversed, Averno with a sunset flip, it’s blocked, Halloween not stable enough to do another move though, so Mephisto comes in and takes advantage with a ‘rana. Nicho kick breaks that up. Averno tries a ‘rana on Nicho, but it’s blocked and Averno is left hanging. Halloween nails Averno with a dropkick to the head. Both guys cover, one two Mephisto takes Halloween over with a sunset flip, breaking the pin. They’re too close to the ropes to get to a pin, so Mep stands Halloween in the corner and gets to chopping. Averno gets Nicho in the opposite corner, and they try to whip the FdT members into each other. Nicho and Halloween manage to spin each other around, but miss on clotheslines. FdT worked over in the corners again, and Mephisto and Averno try again – eh, nope, reversed into each other. FdT work the Infernales over in the corner. switching up to hit running clotheslines. Nicho and Halloween decide to go across the ring to charge the other guy again, trying spears, but Averno and Mephisto move, and the champions post themselves. Averno with a beautiful plancha to the floor! We catch the end of from Mephisto as well. That leaves Damien and Satanico in the ring – Damien manages a running kick to Satanico’s left side, off the ropes, dropkick to the left shoulder as he’s bent over one two three! (2:40) I’m guessing we missed some work Damien did earlier to that shoulder because Satanico is still down and holding it. We take an abrupt cut before replays to

Time for the second fall. Satanico in, for his time, somewhat deflecting a dropkick from Nicho, but really not match for a three on one beating. Double whip, Halloween spinebuster, Nicho and Halloween hit the triple legdrop. Damien demonstrates how that move feels. Mephisto tries to help out, but he’s quickly stopped by Damien and Nicho. Mephisto is run chest first into the corner a few times to set up the Halloween spear. Halloween and Nicho ask “What Are You Doing?” Averno in, Averno taking a Nicho superkick. Averno tries to fight back, but ends up taking the set of corner charges – corner clothesline, corner clothesline, Poetry In Motion is sidestepped! Damien’s miss takes him all the way to the floor, where Satanico smashes the live out of him with his running apron senton. Mephisto’s mastered the art of only getting offense off camera, as he’s laid out Nicho on the outside when we take a look at him. That leaves Averno and Halloween fighting, and Averno is ahead on open hand slaps. Mephisto back in to help – double whip, double spinebuster. Rolled up to his feet, chopped, and Halloween is slid to the floor hard. Satanico in to help as Nicho comes in – whip, waved by, lifted up for the triple pump powerbomb. One two – wait, they’re not done, here’s another powerbomb – one two three. (2:33)

There’s the whistle. There’s the stalling. There’s the clip. We come back to see the Infernales setting up a complex spot: Damien is held by the junior Infernales outside the ring, his legs on the apron but the rest of him off. I guess it’s Satanico is going for a sliding dropkick to the crotch, but Halloween and Nicho end up pulling him out before he gets there, so we’ll never know. True to form, Mephisto (and Averno) drop Damien on the floor when we can’t see them. Halloween and Satanico brawl into the front row, Halloween doing the old “put the leg in the chair and kick a bunch of times”, scaring people in the process. Mephisto and Averno are still beating Damien down – Averno hits a sliding dropkick on the outside. Mephisto and Nicho end up in the ring, under the pretense that this a match and they do those sorts of things. Double clothesline, neither goes down, though Mephisto rests on the middle rope like he needs a break to catch his wind. Nicho is apparently willing – he instead takes off, hitting a somersault plancha to the floor on Avenro. Mephisto’s turn – pescado on Halloween, but Halloween catches him! F5 on the floor! Halloween throws Mephisto back in, crowd shot. I’m thinking we might have clipped out a pinfall here? Anyway, Damien has a random wooden box he’s smashing into Satanico’s leg. Satanico sells it as a lot more painful then how it looks. It sure seems like Nicho and Halloween are getting up from a pinfall and wondering why this isn’t over, so we’ll call that (1:44) Satanico is getting his leg checked on by the doctor, unable to get up. Averno thrown in as they work to get Satanico’s boot off. Averno is whipped, back elbow by Halloween, Halloween rolls him to Nicho, Nicho lifts him up for Halloween to F5, Averno reverses it into a small package as Nicho turns to celebrate. One two three. (2:15) Nicho gets informed by the referee and is in shock. While Halloween pulls a Singapore Cane from nowhere, Damien is up on the apron to hold Averno for Nicho – although we don’t see it, it seems as though Nicho might miss and give his own partner a superkick. Director must know where this is going, because he’s tracking with Halloween. Averno gets a waistlock on Nicho, Nicho races to the ropes and goes low, Halloween cranks Averno with the cane from the outside. One ref was checking on Satanico, the other was checking on Damien, so they both missed the interference. One two three (2:48) FdT celebrate, but it can’t be a good thing that the Commissioner is at ringside and not happy. He’s having a word with Baby Richard and the ring announcer, which can’t be a good thing. Satanico is able to move enough to argue for whatever his side. Ring announcer explains the decision: since FdT used a prohibited object, the fall is thrown out and there is no winner – and the belts are held up. Halloween goes nuts at this point, getting in the Commissioner’s face and almost getting violent before Nicho pulled him back. Rudo announcer argues for a fourth fall, but it looks like the belts are staying in Mexico City for the time being. Damien and Nicho complain to the announcers about being robbed. Doctor Morales points out that they used a bat. Damien says they won. Rudo announcer argues that no such footage of the shot with the “bat” (as they’re calling it) exist. Replays show –hey, there’s that missing pinfall. After seeing the footage, rudo announcer insists that it’s faked.

Next Week: Cien Caras vs Pierroth in a hair/hair match. Also, Vampiro, Violencia, Ultimo Guerrero, Lizmark Jr., Villano IV, Rey Bucanero, Negro Casas, the TV debut of Sagrado and much much more.

Closing Notes:

1. First fall was likely ruined by clipped.
2. I guess the justification for over turning the decision here was because it was a title match - I guess we have to remember to see if they do the same thing in future title matches.
3. So so sad I didn't get to see the Capos. So very sad.
