# Rudo, Rudo, Rudo (captian) vs Tecnico, Tecnico (captian), Tecnico

F Type Time Finish Comment

Vignette:  Team Japan (is that Takemura?) are talking when Tarzan Boy wanders over to talk about - teaming with them? Black Tiger's new valet? (That would explain those hand motions.) Anyway, Porky is really fat, Niebla is really ugly and Hijo de Lizmark is ... Lizmark. Tarzan Boy tells them not to worry, because he's Rob Van Dam. Something like that, anyway. Tarzan Boy walks away and the Japanese are less than pleased. I think we're going somewhere with this but I dunno. I should note that everyone from Japan is wearing a Psychopathic Records hockey jersey this week.

1 Japan (Masada, Nosawa), Tarzan Boy (c) vs Mr. Niebla, Lizmark Jr., Super Porky (c)
07/30/02, Arena Coliseo
69
1 trios 3:24
3:36
Tarzan body slam Porky
Masada/Nosawa double armbar/legpull Niebla
Typical Porky comedy match.
2 5:05 Porky top rope splash all
3 2:51 Quintuple CO (all but Porky)
T 10:42 Tecnicos (2-1)

Notes: The Japanese valet is here too. Not only are they wearing the jerseys, but Nosawa and Masada have really shiny multicolored tights with that same logo on it. They don't seem to have those in the store. Masada has blue MMA gloves (I'm guessing) and spits blue before the match. Porky does his disturbing dance - Tarzan Boy gets into it. Rudo beatdown fall one. Takemura shows up to cover Porky's face with a Japanese flag (actually, more towel sized) during a choke. The match is very slow and very brawling. Finnaly something - drop toe hold on Niebla, Tarzan holds Niebla in a camel clutch for the other two to dropkick him in the face. Lizmark in - drop toe hold, Masada with a legdrop, came clutch by Nosawa, dropkick to the face by Masada. They take turns with second rope axhandles to an Lizmark barred arm, then hold him for a Tarzan springboard dropkick. Tarzan with a body slam on Porky! One two three. (3:24) Niebla in - double armbar, double legpull and he gives. (3:36) Replays. Triple Pose. Break.

They're still posing as we come back, allowing the tecnico to sneak in and ambush them.  Or at least try. It's kinda mixed for a second then the rudos take back control. Missed corner splash on Porky turns it around for real. Niebla slams Nosawa on the ramp. Some how we've run into a Porky comedy sequence, but it takes a while to set up. They're doing the amateur wrestling bit again. No Masada, don't go to all fours. Nosawa is in to argue logic - oh no, they're both going to all fours. This ends the same way it always does. Nosawa slaps with both hands after, and Masada joins in. Porky CRIES. I'm done. Why do they always give us the worst angle of the Bronco Buster - we get none of the run. Well, it's not much of a run, but you know what I mean. Lizmark vs Tarzan Boy. Now, they're stalling some more. There's the Spinaroonie. Niebla in to get a tilt-a-whirl back breaker in. Now everyone lined up for the Porky top rope splash - one two three. (5:05) Replays.

Masada and Nosawa fool around with the ring card girl between falls. Now we're going back to the normal one on one, but it's the Niebla dancing period. Let's all stand around and look at each other for a while. Nosawa takes the slide to the floor. Lizmark and Niebla do some decent-good tag stuff leading to a double pescado, but I'm so out of it now it doesn't matter. And I'm already anticipating the Porky related screwjob - Porky tope! I think he got his feet caught in the ropes and it helped that everyone was standing there to wait for them there. Is Porky going to make it back in the ring first? Well, he fell down on his first try and sliding in under the ropes proved a challenge but he was the only one to make it in time. (5CO 2:51) "Brazo!" chant after the match - lets look at replays. And here's the tope -  both his stomach and his legs hit the ropes, but not too much and he didn't really have far to go. The fans are really upset about something Tarzan Boy did but we didn't get to see it.

2 Infernals (Satanico (c), Averno, Mephisto - champions) vs Villanos (III (c), IV, V - challengers)
Mexican National Trios Championship

08/02/02, Arena Mexico
70
3 trios 2:45 Satanico inside cradle Villano 3 We never see enough to tell if the match was good. This was a busy fall, though.
T ?:?? Infernals (2-1)

Notes: There must be a rule that we can only see one fall per match in this feud. Villanos are wearing their non numbered outfits so I can't call this. Near fall on Satanico on a sunset flip. Satanico gets put in a figure four sleeper but the face is made. Averno hits a top rope splash but III pulls him off. III gets Averno in a Rocking Horse but Mephisto breaks it up with a clothesline. Tecnicos won the first fall, rudos the second, apparently. Mephisto gets a near fall but V3 kicks out. V3 gets a sunset flip on Satanico for two. Small package - one two NO. V3 tries a 'rana, Satanico with a powerbomb and feet on the ropes as he covers one two he's pulled out by the Villanos. Double somersault planchas! Averno's was no hands - they just came out of nowhere there. The tecnico referee slides out to check out everyone, while the rudo referee starts counting them out. Satanico crawls in to go after V3, but V3 gets an abdominal stretch and Satanico gives. Too bad there's no one there to notice. V3 celebrates even though there's no way either referee could have seen that. In fact, the rudo referee turns around, V3 asks him to raise his arm, rudo referee asks why, and by that time, Satanico's got V3 in an inside cradle one two three. (2:45) Well that seems about right. Infernals are stoked. The commissioner is coming to the ring, which probably does not mean good things for our champions, but let's look at the replays first. There seems to be a discussion going on, but it looks like the champions got their belts back - we don't get to see it close enough to tell.

There's a clown, and he's doing a news show on Galavision. I have nothing against clowns, but that weirds me out a bit - even more than the Santa Claus that keeps kick the elf because he reminds him you can't really have Christmas in July.

Vignette: Felino is deep in thought about his match against Black Tiger. Olimpico will be in his corner. Don't worry about Tiger's friends. It'd be a great honor to win. That's all I got out of this.

3 Black Tiger vs Felino
Legend of the Silver Mask V Semifinal
08/02/02, Arena Mexico
80
1 mano y mano 10:06 Felino Casas special Tiger unconvincing, not great

Notes: Black Tiger has the Japanese Valet, as well as all of the rest of Team Japan. Nosawa has the small Japanese flag with him this week, but I think he gives it back to Takemura. Black Tiger has two valets and Olimpico. Loud "Mexico" chant. We get a clean start to the match - well, both go after each other at the same time, which is about as clean as we get. Shouderblocks. no one goes down. Again. Felino off the ropes, over, ducks a clothesline, hiptoss by Black Tiger is blocked and Felino hits his own. Second rope 'rana and Tiger will take a break. Running double jump springboard somersault plancha! Felino's coming out strong quick - he's back in first, but Tiger seems okay and is just readjusting his pads. Tiger to the apron, Felino races to meet him, Tiger's right is blocked, Tiger's left is blocked, Felino slides out through Tiger's legs and trips him up, his chin (or really his hands) hitting the apron. Victory roll style 'rana! Now Tiger is hurt, and Felino is in but pumped. Tiger is getting counted out with nosawa trying to slow down or break the count. Now Masada is helping while Takemura checks on Tiger - looks like he's going to make it back in. Felino charges in again, Tiger gets in a shoulder to the gut. Tiger goes up but Felino catches him there. They battle on the second rope for a while, then stand ready for something for a while - Felino gets dropped gut first on the top rope, then Tiger tries to guillotine legdrop him but Felino recovers enough to move out of the way and Tiger land in the ring. Somersault senton, La Majistral and this match would probably be over right here if Team Japan didn't come in the ring to argue with the referee. Takemura breaks up the pin with a dropkick, then stomps Felino out of the ring. The announcers wonder why a DQ wasn't called for them coming into the ring. At any rate, Masada and Nosawa are told to leaves -  they go and stomp Felino into the floor instead. Olimpico tries to make the save but he's held back for a minute. Then he covers up Felino from Nosawa's kicks, but damage has been done. Olimpico pleads with the commissioner to have them all thrown out. Did Takemura already leave? Nosawa is leaving. Here's a replay of the dropkick. Back to live time (and about 1:30 after the match interruption started), we get back to action. Felino tries to come in, but Tiger dropkicks him back to the floor. Masada is still here and holding on to Felino - Tiger nearly runs over the referee to do his springboard plancha, but Felino breaks free (with help from Olimpico) and Masada takes it. Takemura wanders over to help (guess he was still here) and Felino hits everyone with a plancha of his own. Team Japan is down on the ground, and Felino is appealing to the crowd instead of going into the ring. Is Tiger going to walk? Well, I think Team Japan is being ejected for possibly the third time this match. This is gonna take a while. Felino did make it back in the ring. It's now been three minutes since that La Majistral and though we've had some action with these dives, the match itself has been on break for a while. Tiger steps in the ring 3:33 after that move. Dropkick is missed, whipped, reversed, Felino 'ran rolled though one two NO. We don't get to see the referee and his count isn't loud so I'm just assuming there. Tiger with a right, right, Tiger taking time to yell instead of following up, corner whip, Felino drop toe hold him into the corner. Suplex. Is he going up? He's taking his time to decide - now he's in a hurry, moonsault misses because he took to long. Tiger going up - I don't think that Moonsault would've hit right even if Felino didn't move. Felino tries another 'rana but Tiger reveres to a powerbomb very slow to get in position and start counting one two no. Tiger argues the count and puts his hands on the referee - the referee threatens to DQ him right there. Tiger goes to the apron - somersault senton - did it catch him or not? I can't really tell - it seemed long, but Tiger could've just nicked him. Felino groggily gets up to go into the corner for his next spot, not really selling it one way or the other. Tiger with a corner charge and dropkick, but Felino sidesteps it. Felino puts him on the top rope - top rope victory roll type headscissors. Will he go for the moonsault? He takes too long and is pushed off. Tiger loads Felino back up the corner again, then hangs him in the tree of woe. Backing up, sliding dropkick to the head one. Tiger pulls him up and off - face first crucifix powerbomb one two NO. Tiger with a kick. Off the ropes, into a dropkick to the knee, La Majistral one two three. (10:06) I dunno. I still have a hard time buying that as a finisher. Tiger too - he argues with the announcers that it wasn't three. "Only two seconds! You saw that!" Tiger tries Spanish to see if that'll work, but the referee confirms that it was a three count - replay is pretty conclusive as well. The long break hurt it for me.

Spectacular Moments - Kicking someone right in their taped section seems to be a smart move. Starman almost over shoots Hooligan with a somersault plancha. Tapita on Tarzan is not spectacular. Tigre Blanco has a nice tope.

Vignette: Shocker works solo on this next batch of applicants. First guy is a masked guy, though it looks like Shocker is holding a picture with him maskless. I don't catch the name - now he takes off the mask but we get the reverse angle. Shocker tells him to turn it back on. Next up is Robert Rodriguez. He's got the blond dyed hair but it doesn't seem like Shocker's that impressed. He's nervous. Not sure about third guy's name - he's got a full body suit mask on. Shocker talks to the camera - can you see him in the Guapos? Nah. Something Azteca is next. Another masked guy. He's been wrestling for six years. Shocker tells us that this isn't an easy decision, I think. Next up "American Ass". He's wearing very tiny tights that are showing way more than we could ever want to see. Luckily the camera keeps above the waist - well, until they do a profile shot to make sure we're noticing that. Shocker is distressed as well. Anyway, the casting goes on, but now Shocker has to go to a construction site. I guess - I don't know why he's dressing up like that otherwise. This was a lot funnier last week.

4 Rey Buccanero, Ultimo Guerrero, Apolo Dantes, Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) vs Giant Silva (c), Shocker, Rayo de Jalisco Jr.
08/02/02, Arena Mexico
75
1 4 vs 3 9:45 Shocker low blow mule kick Ultimo
Rayo abdominal stretch cradle Apolo
DCO?
Typical "good workers try to salvage a Silva match" instance. Looking forward to Shocker/Ultimo

Notes: Shocker is wearing his ode to Grandmaster Sexay again. And then he rushes the ring. Wait a minute, I just realized that Apolo and Shocker are on opposite sides! That can not be! Shocker's a really dummy for picking a fight with Ultimo before his partners come out - Rayo ain't hurrying his entrance for anyone. I guess it can't still be going or we'd see it now, right? Who can say. Looks like they've backed of when we get the wide shot. Rey piggybacks on Apolo so he can go eye to eye with Silva. Apolo and Shocker not on the same team - this is so not right. Tag champs try the double dropkick on Silva but he just leans back on the ropes. Again - almost over the ropes but still no. And now he's on offense. Apolo comes in and they all kick him till he goes down. Triple pin one two no Silva's just too darn strong. Here's your Apolo Silva confrontation - Apolo almost dies upon receiving an open hand slap. Press slammed onto the champs. Rock Bottom on Ultimo! Shocker counts Ultimo down but oddly, he's not the referee for this match. Silva sets up the multiple person splash - Ultimo and Rey lined up. Second rope splash - well, maybe someday. Ultimo moves, Rey moves not enough and gets smashed. All the rudos in to break that up and beat him up. Silva too strong spot coming up....NOW. Moving, it's time for the Rayo comedy spots, with Dr. Wagner getting to be the victim.  Actually, they're trying to play it straight right here, which will make the Jedi mind control even more annoying. Here we go. Apolo gets a turn on the crazy train. Now Ultimo and Shocker - nah, Wagner back in. I was looking forward to that too much. Whip, revered, by Shocker, Wagner goes over, under, and then spins out Shocker with a shoulderblock. We watch a replay of that and completely miss how Shocker takes control, with just kills my enthuse for this match again. Shocker with a bodyscissors armdrag to end this exchange. Tag champs in - Apolo getting in cheap shots from the outside, and later, Shocker takes a swing at Apolo. That just ain't right. Shocker with a nice tope. Silva back in. Big boot for Wagner. Noggin nocker for Wagner and Rey. OH NO HE'S TAKING OFF HIS SHIRT. He saw Halloween do it and thought it looked cool. Silva takes himself and those two out with a clothesline. Apolo and Rayo have a sequence, but it's mostly set up Ultimo and Shocker doing the Ultimo and Shocker reversal sequence and Shocker hitting a low blow mule kick on one two three. (9:45) Rayo gets an abdominal stretch cradle on Apolo at the same time and I guess everyone else gets counted out. Apolo, in revenge, rips up Silva's (only?) shirt, leading to a high speed chase to the back. I think Shocker is happy to get his revenge from the last two weeks. Ultimo and Shocker talk after. Ultimo says he'd surely agree to a hair/mask match but Shocker had to cheat to win so not match for him.

Next week: Felino vs Black Warrior, Vampiro, Dr. Wagner, Shocker, HSN, Juvi, Mascara Magica and more.

Lots more posing, but nothing else. Rayo and Wagner eventually start fighting again but we're out of time and don't really care.

Show Assessment: Show was set up to need one great match to carry it - didn't come through

Closing Notes:

1. Felino winning is weird - will Warrior go back to rudo for one match?
2. Not to mention that Black Tiger has been a much larger TV presence
3. I hope we at least get a rematch fully televised for the Trio title
4. Otherwise, what's been the point?
5. I didn't even notice no Boricuas - the show wasn't all that much better without them.
