This was a bit of a crazy finish. Just like Dempster, Wood’s control is always going to be the worry spot for his saves. Of course, Kerry’s nice enough to mix in some HBPs with his walks, just for variety’s sake. Somehow he pulled this out.
I have to say, I wasn’t really bothered by the tension of the finish…because the was the one game on the road trip I missed. I had a good excuse, I had to wake up at 3 AM in the morning the next day. Such hate for the West Coast road trip.
Fine time for Fukudome to start hitting home runs. The single in the 9th was even bigger.
