One minute quicker than yesterday. GO ME. It’s a small victory.
Wade Miller, after all the slow recovery and numerous going nowhere rehab starts, sure seems to have made the smart move by asking for a single year deal. Throw out of the first start, and he’s got a ERA of 1.85. He’s going to make money, to the point where I don’t think it matters if the Cubs would include him or not, he’s probably doing better elsewhere.
It’d be nice if he went one more inning, but I think that still wouldn’t have prevented Dusty from using 3 pitchers to get one out. What a horrible display of over managing. Santo was about to kill him after the fourth change, and I was sad when he did not.
Another mailed in day, another day where the Reds were bad enough to let the Cubs back in to it. I felt sure Griffey would hit a home run as soon as Pat mentioned he was waiting in the on deck circle. It just felt inevitable that the Cubs were going down in a bad bullpen way once again.
Wish I could see exactly how many they’ve lost when leading after 7. It’s got to be far below average, but I wonder how far.
