7! EVERYWHERE, there’s SEVEN. (The only difference was the offense.)

Maddux gave up 7 runs on 10 hits, but he won now so he’s surely totally fine. Would a Maddux injury make a big difference at this point? Jerome Williams might be let back into the majors, but that’s about it.

It’s better that Lee is taking time off rather than forcing himself to play thru pain, but gosh is this annoying. They kinda have to face Theriot this time, don’t they? (And yet, there was Neifi.)

Murton looked quite not good in the field on both of those long flies. Hopefully it’s just the typical Shea flyball problems, but he really increased the level of difficulty on those catches.

Interesting to hear Brenly actually bring up the “do you bring in your best reliever in the 7th if the game’s on the line” argument; it sounded like he actually might, but then again, he wasn’t on the field making the decision. I think I’m just happy they didn’t use Novoa and Ohman again.

This was yet another game where I was just waiting for the hammer to drop in the 8th and 9th, and was shocked that it never did. They managed to get out alive, and now I’ve got a Z start to look forward to. Yay.
