Day game after a night game makes me have to write a bit quicker. Two game winning streaks are great.

It rained (again.) It was FANTASTIC. Due to traffic (and the rain and not really having a plan on where we were going), Jim and I were running late to get to the game anyway – but a 51 minute delay meant we got there with 12 minutes to spare. It also meant I got home past midnight, but I’ll take it.

These seats were five rows behind the Cubs bullpen. I’ve had some nice seats this year.

It was the top of the fifth inning when Jim looked at the scoreboard, and pointed out Marshall had a no hitter. It sure didn’t feel that way; he had a few long counts and didn’t seem dominating by any stretch, but he was getting it done. Lots of balls, and it was good he was taken out when he did.

Qualified Rookie Pitchers
1) Verlander (DET) 5-3 3.18
2) Koronka (TEX) 4-1 4.22
3) Marshall (CHC) 3-1 4.26
4) Maholm (PIT) 2-4 4.63

Right now, though, it’s probably going to Fielder or a Marlin hitter.

I was ripping Bynum five seconds before hit that homerun. Freddy 1, me 0.

Barrett’s starting to look Piazza like. They’re running a bit too free on him.

I think they’ve run two squeeze plays and I’ve been there for both.
