Saves by Situation

Tie Game: 2-2

Up 1: 12-0

– 1 blown but he pitched another inning to secure the win

– 1 blown but the team picked him up

– If you count those as blown, that’s 10-2, 83.3%, or right on average

– every single 1 run save has been on the road!

Up 2: 7-0

Up 3: 7-0

About equal mix between tough/easier saves. Fine performance this year.

Dempster’s had a habit of making the saves pretty interesting, and I think he’s probably not going to be this great every season. His WHIP is 1.51, above the average of 1.36, mostly because he’s walking 2 more guys per 9 innings than he should. That’s common thru this bullpen this year; as a team, they’re .62 over average there.

I ended up gathering this data by searching thru box scores and game logs, because there doens’t appear to be a site with a good game log for this sort of stuff. (If you can point me in the right direction, that’d be swell.) I’ve posted my raw data after the break for checking/reuse purposes.

indicies, histories updated

After trying to find the data elsewhere and being unsuccesful, there’s a Super Astros Episode Guide on the luchawiki. It’s not on the main page because I need to fix the main page before I add more to it, but if you search carefully, you’ll find it (as long as Jose agrees it’s close enough to lucha to count.) I’m thrilled to point out that we’ve doubled our Albert Ching content.

If you like designing things to look nice, feel free to help out the luchawiki, becuase I think that’s least favorite part for everyone involved.

ALSO, If you know wiki in general and want to help out, please do. all I want is to know how to do an if. Though a program or macro to automatically converted HTML table to wiki table would be neat, because I’m either left with ugly looking tables (taking all the spaces out to prevent it from random [pre][/pre] switches, which also makes them hard to hand edit) or recoding everythig into wikiscript by hand.
