on the clock

Monday, I was tricked into watching the Bears preseason game, which was a painful experience on it’s own. To add to it, I was also forced into picking the Bears record for the season.

I said 6-10. And I thought I was being nice.
They thought I wasn’t thinking it’s thru – picking 8-8 and 9-7 for the season.

Their case was, going game by game, it looks like the Bears got a pretty workable schedule. Which, I’ll grant, make some sense. The NFC on a whole looks pretty below average this season, it helps that they’re playing the NFC West and it’s not crazy to think they could beat AFC North opponents Cleveland and Cinncinati.

My case was the Bears really really sucked last season, probably had a better record then they deserved, and weren’t a whole lot better this one.

If it were a smarter person, I would’ve pointed out they didn’t really take care of the one problem that most publically killed them last year…

Didn’t watch today’s game; contiuned to catch up on my lucha. And the others were otherwise committed, so I don’t think they were going to watch it right away – at least that’s why I presume no one called me when it happened. I only realized what was up when I saw this headline

Grossman breaks ankle, season in jeopardy – ChiSports

He’ll be out 3-4 months unless something implausible happens, which means they’re better off IRing him but might not.

All I know is
– season ended on the second game of preseason, in an x-ray room
– Coach is gonna get killed for leaving him in for two quarters (but he had too because Rex needed to get playing time)
– I’m really annoyed I don’t know anyone with DirectTV and Sunday Ticket this year; It’s gonna suck being stuck watching a 3-13 team for a full season
