dueling reasons why Dubios has got sent down
– his defense has been quite less than stellar of late. Kelton’s watching the games from Iowa and thinking he could do that, I’m sure.
– mimicry of the bullpen situation, where the cold guy gets sent back to Iowa for more playing time, and someone else gets randomlly pulled up. Jason is playing the part of Jon Leicester.
Gammons had a throwaway line on one of his 100 different ESPN appearances this week about the Cubs wanting to bring up Felix Pie, but Pie had hurt his ankle. I’m guessing that’s why Greenberg is up instead. (Cubs.com’s article confirms they wanted Felix. If they’re going with this as a running idea and not just a momentarily reflex, I bet they send down a pitcher and we have a normal sized bench!)
They were selling Greenberg as a future leadoff man in spring training, so they might give that a ring.
My dream Cubs manager plays Cedeno and these two guys tommorow in a statement move.
